Another instance occurred when Grylls was supposed to be hacking it on a desert island, but instead, according to Weinert, the star was shacked up in a motel.
And it's not just staying in hotels and motels when he should have been setting up a tent or camping out in a cave. Grylls reportedly did not do some of the wilderness survival tactics he demonstrated on the show.
Meanwhile, Discovery Channel is pretty pissed and are conducting an internal investigation. They say:
"Discovery Communications has learned that isolated elements of the 'Man vs. Wild' show in some episodes were not natural to the environment, and that for health and safety concerns the crew and host received some survival assistance while in the field," a spokeswoman for the network said.
"Moving forward the program will be 100 percent transparent and all elements of the filming will be explained up-front to our viewers. In addition, shows that are to be repeated will be edited appropriately.
In the end kids, remember--never trust reality TV.
