Atlantic City :: Not Just For Corrupt NBA Referees

Miami and Vegas aren't the only towns with some big hotel changes going on. Atlantic City is getting in on the action, too.

First, we found out that corrupt NBA official Tim Donaghy was investigated for placing some bets at the Borgata. The charges haven't been substantiated but c'mon, the man was essentially working for the mob.

Anyhow, in some less scandalous news, a tipster lets us know that the Bally's, Showboat and Harrahs have all had some new life breathed into them. Did someone say bikini contest?

Our tipster, who does work in the hospitality world but is not a PR rep, says that both Bally's and Showboat have gotten new room looks. But the more exciting of the two is Showboat.

The suites at Showboat have not been shown yet, they are hosting high rollers to an open house this weekend. The suites called House of Blues suites are for sale to cash customers and they make most NYC suites look like a crappy LES studio apartment.

Additionally, Harrahs opened a brand-new indoor swimming pool back at the start of the summer and are now set to host two big events--get ready for'em--Finals of Ms. Hawaiian Tropic and an FHM Party. But not just any FHM party. Our source thinks they will be holding the judging for Ms. FHM.

Don't worry, Harrahs is not all bikini contests. For example, you can sample the Red Door Spa. Says our friend:

I also sampled their Red Door Spa which was really great, the men's lounge had a digital shower (one with like 20+ shower heads, and a jacuzzi with a fireplace and waterfall. They even had a huge flat screen with the sports package for baseball and football.

Ok so this review was a bit man-centric but good to know what's happening in AC anyways.
