Bad Rate :: 'Boutique' Quality Inn Vancouver for $189
[Ed. Note: Welcome to our Good Rate/Bad Rate feature where we look at hotel prices in the same region and decide which one most deserves your hard-earned benjamins. Rates quoted here were captured on July 24, 2007 and are subject to change. Enjoy.]

You can stay at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver for $114, which is this week's Good Rate, or you can stay at the Vancouver Quality Inn for $189. Hmmmmm...
This Quality Inn was apparently once an independent hotel and still carries the name Inn at False Creek. Possibly, that's why this is billed as a "boutique hotel," but the clash between "boutique" and Quality Inn is just the beginning.
Here's the description of their style.
We chose the easy elegance of Sante Fe, blended with Mexican Art, pottery and rugs to create a comfortable ambiance of a retreat within the city. Rounding out this eclectic decor are splashes of Mediterranean accents and rich maple wood.
Did we mention it's in Vancouver?
In all fairness, they do have complimentary WiFi and if you pay a trifling amount to upgrade to a suite, you get a kitchenette.
