Also last week, we found out the Gansevoort West was dead but that the Gansevoort South Beach aka Hotel Paradiso is getting closer to opening, having even hired a Managing Director away from Andre Balazs' South Beach properties.
Another tipster wrote us to say that the Gansevoort South Beach has added another high-up staffer. This time, the employee was stolen from The Bowery Hotel, so says our source:
New #2 at Gansevoort South. Michael Lindenbaum, former Guest Relations Manager of The Original Gansevoort, and current GM of the Bowery Hotel, has accepted an offer to be the hotel manager of Gansevoort South. My conclusion, this place will rock!
Wow, so Lindenbaum went from Gansevoort to Bowery now back to Gansevoort. Either way, the Gansevoort is bringing some serious talent to its newest property.
Although an official opening date has not been set, we expect the Gansevoort people to announce the date sometime next month. Meaning, they let us know next month when the place will officially open, not that the place will open next month. But we're guessing they will have it ready for the 2008 season, sometime in January or February.
