Kate Somerville swag bag!
The other night we were invited to attend the celebration party of celebrity skin guru Kate Somerville who has lended her name, treatments and products to the spa at the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire.
The party was hosted by Grey's Anatomy alum Kate Walsh who is starring in her own spin-off Private Practice in the fall. Also on hand was Molly Sims and Marla Sokoloff. The event was a pretty tame poolside affair. There were lots of beautiful people standing about and delicious mojitos with bits of fresh fruit placed in the bottom of the glasses.
Of course, there was an open bar but surprisingly we were able to steer clear of it after our first drink. This was a spa party afterall, not the place to get falling down drunk. And we all know what alcohol does to your complexion!
MORE
If you're not reading the gossip rags or the women's mags every week, then you won't know that Kate Somerville is emerging as the next best celebrity facialist. Although she's been in business for the past 15 years, this year seems to be her breakout year.
She's been lauded for her non-surgical skin treatments and famous people like Jessica Alba, Felicity Huffman, Debra Messing and of course Kate Walsh are some of her clients. Earlier this month, Nicole Richie was spotted stepping out of her flagship clinic on Melrose Avenue. (And yes, we know she is not technically famous.)
But the services offered at The Spa at the Four Seasons will be quite different than heading to the Kate Somerville center. The hotel reps tell us that while Kate's place is a very stripped down experience--all that matters is your skin--the hotel's spa will offer a more pampered and relax experience by adding extra massages as well as the opportunity to kick about the renovated spa.
The hotel spa therapists have all been trained by Kate's people and her signature treatments will be offered such as:
· Kate's Signature ($375): This facial starts off with an enzymatic exfoliation followed by a soothing hand and arm massage, a relaxing pressure point massage and a customized mask. Your skin is then treated to a hydrating oxygen treatment, a DermaLucent light therapy and finished up with a foot massage.
Also offered are a DermalQuench hydrating facial ($250) and DermaLucent Phototherapy ($175). Plus, men can come in and get the 90-minute About Face facial for men ($325) which is like Kate's Signature facial but for men and their shaving irritations.
So far, the only other hotel spa to offer Kate Somerville treatments and product is the Four Seasons Maui, another celeb favorite.
