HOTEL HYPE
· Kicking it off we have a tip from someone who we will call V. V writes that we can expect, "Viceroy, W and Schrager, all for ‘08." Last we checked in on the Miami Viceroys, we heard a 2009 opening date and that came from the hotels themselves so we doubt it would open any earlier.
As for the W South Beach the website still predicts a 2007 opening but in doing some cursory web research opening dates all over the map from mid-2008 to sometime in 2009. Right now, we can't seem to find any construction pics on the place (other than the ones we snapped last December) so we have no idea how it's progressing.
As for Ian Schrager, he does have something up his sleeve, an as of yet, unamed hotel in Miami Beach that promises to bring back affordable luxury in a hotel designed by John Pawson. Expected 2008 and we know Schrager doesn't fool around.
HOTEL AMENITIES
· Next a curious reader Mary Low recently stayed at The Fontainebleau Resort and loved the hotel's bedsheets. She writes to us:
I loved them and would like to use them. They were Egyptian cotton jacquard. What is their name and where can I buy them?
Well, Mary we have a call into the hotel but no one really seems to know how to answer our question. We're working on it. In the meantime, anyone with the brand name, let us know.
HOTEL DEALS
· Andre Balazs's two properties in SoBe are offering deals. The Standard Miami is continuing the Summer Loving deal where a two-night spa stay with continental breakfast and valet parking is just $299. Enter "Lovin" (no "g") when booking online.
At The Raleigh, it's the "Grab a Pal" promotion where you get two nights in an ocean view suite, plus continental breakfast and valet for $495. Enter "Grab a Pal" when booking online.
CELEBRITY SCOOP
· And lastly, thanks to X17's stalker shots of Jsimp leaving Miami, we all now know where she stayed during her trip...or is it where her bodyguard likes to shop?
Either way it's the Scoop NYC boutique at the Shore Club which also house a Me & Ro jewelry store and a Rick Pipino salon.
