Don't Sneak Into Le Parker Meridien's Indoor Pool

NY Mag did an article the other week about pool crashing in New York. There aren't many hotel pools in Manhattan, but the mag's Elizabeth Cline investigated what was available including the Hotel Gansevoort, The Mandarin Oriental, Hotel QT and even the Holiday Inn on 57th Street.
Since the story was about pool crashing, Cline entered the hotel pools faking guest status or sometimes just cruising on by.
Or so she thought. In this week's issue of the magazine (with Katie Couric on the cover), the mag tells us that Le Parker Meridien had sent them a bill for the hotel pool. The note the hotel sent along with the bill read:
"We actually did not let you sneak in; we just thought you wanted to start a tab with us at our pool. We know how busy NYC summers can be, so we thought we would send over the bill now so it does not escape your mind. "
And guess what the charge was? $100. If you're a hotel guest, and not an undercover reporter, the charge is usually $10.
