Father's Day Packages Round-Up

Father's Day is next Sunday, June 17th, and while we will probably give Dad the standard gift of a tie and a box of golf balls, you can show him you care by planning a vacation together. Here are three Father's Day packages that we have been alerted to. As always, double check with the hotel to make sure these packages still stand at the rates quoted. You know how these things go---they are subject to availability and prices can change.

New Orleans Marriott and Renaissance Hotels: It's actually refreshing to see a hotel package in New Orleans that is not about rebuilding the city or promoting tourism. Those types of deals were good for a certain amount of time but New Orleans can't be thought of as the victim forever. Now, it's time to see what the heart and soul of the city is still about. And that's jazz and voodoo.

Five Marriott and Renaissance Hotels are playing on next month's 7/7/7 date with their Lucky Sevens boys-only trip. The package includes:

· Automatic room upgrade
· Good luck voodoo dolls
· Psychic reading
· List of area casinos to try your luck.

Lucky Sevens is available now through September 30, 2007 with a starting rate of $169 per night (based on doulbe occupancy.) Use XXBD code when calling the hotel or booking online.

CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta: God, we love the names the hotel sales and marketing people slap onto these types of packages. The CasaMagna Marriott in Puerto Vallarta is offering the "Puff, Putt and Pamper" Father's Day package. The four day/three night package includes:

· Deluxe Ocean View accommodations
· Daily round of golf at either Vista Vallarta or Marina Vallarta golf courses
· Bucket of chilled Mexican beer upon arrival
· Tequila tasting
· Cigar rolling demonstration and cigars for the group
· 50 min. Men's Sport Massage followed by a Sports Pedicure at the resort's new 22,000 square ft. Ohtli Spa.

The package is good from now through Dec. 16, 2007 and starts at $684 per night. Use the rate code PKG when calling the hotel or booking online.

Boston Hilton Hotels: Meanwhile the Hiltons in Boston keep it old-school with their simply named "Father's Day Packages" that include an overnight family stay for up to four people at either the Hilton Boston Back Bay, the Hilton Boston Logan Airport or the Doubletree in Boston/Waltham. Also included is two adult and two child tickets to the Boston Duck Tours and breakfast the next day. Unlike the others, this package is only available during Father's Day weekend and prices start at $210. Click on "Hotel Special Offers" on the hotels' web site to book.
