Johnny Utah's Rearin' To Go
June 13, 2007 at 9:30 AM | 0 Comments

Last we heard, Johnny Utah's--the cowboy bar at the Rockefeller Center Hotel--would be opening June 14. Turns out, not so much. But don't despair you mechanical bull fans: You should be riding by July 11.
Per a press release we got our hands on thanks to a tipster:
Almost every seat in the house has a view of the dining room's main attraction, Manhattan's only mechanical bull. Showcasing the full essence of the Southwestern theme, the beast is theatrically surrounded with cascading metal chains and burning candles that echo "rings of fire," signifying the celebration of the icon.
We're expecting decent things from the kitchen, which leans heavily on smoked and 'cued meat, because Marlon Manty--formerly of Danny Meyer's Blue Smoke--is at the helm. And if the long tequila list doesn't quicken your pulse:
The communal bathroom stalls have the appearance of old-fashioned outhouses, with light filtered through old barnwood ceilings and corrugated metal walls.
Nice: should be enough room in there for Manhattan's "latest" trend!
