Summer is here, which means baseball-obsessed people all over the U.S. are hopping in planes, trains, and automobiles to visit MLB fields around the country. To help these fanatic fans/hotel guests, we will be looking at ballparks around the country and give you a quick rundown of your closest, safest, and best hotel options. "America's Favorite Pastime" with some of America's finest second cities--what is not to love? Next up in our MLB Travel series is Houston's Minute Maid Park. Ya gotta love the corporate sponsorship of ballparks these days. Still the juice company beats the park's former name--Enron Field. The Inn at the Ballpark is the closest hotel, literally across the street from the park. Surprisingly enough the place doesn't offer any "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" types of packages.

The reviews on the place are so-so but if you're looking for convenience and a cheap rate (under $150), then the Inn at the Ballpark should suffice.
Also close by and good for those with Hilton Honors points is the Hilton Houston Americas. But beware, it's connected to the city's convention center by a skywalk. Yes, it's one of those hotels--a 24-story, impersonal, factory/dorm hotel of sorts. Yet it does have an indoor pool and takes pets under 40 lbs. Again, no special ballpark packages here.
Where Stray Rod and The Blonde Would Stay: This down-low duo were already caught at a Four Seasons in Toronto so it makes perfect sense that they would hit up the Four Seasons Houston, especially since it's only a half-mile from the ballpark. They can take advantage of the bed and breakfast package for $255 a night but the Romantic Rendezvous package at $305 is probably more apropo.
