A Montmartre Find Without A Fortune

When we were looking for a budget bed in romantic Paris, the two-star Hotel Beausejour Montmartre appealed to us partly because of the quaint English translations on its website--we wanted to "quickly distress from the fuzz of Paris life" and stay in a room "that gives to the garden". It also was truly walking distance from many funky parts of Paris--Montmartre of course, and Sacre Couer, and very near the Place de Clichy metro station--but key was the nightly rates of around 80 Euros for a double.
Some of the rooms have great balconies, with enough space to get into a bottle of red wine and some cheese and crackers, and views over some ramshackle Parisian houses. Breakfast in the garden outside is also a highlight. Inside, you get what you expect when you're staying in the middle of a great city and paying not much--less than perfect beds, sometimes leaky bathrooms and varying service levels depending on who's manning the desk. But for the price, it's perfect.
