'Work Out' Stops Over in Indianapolis
May 9, 2007 at 10:00 AM | 0 Comments

For no reason at all yesterday we sat down and decided to watch the Bravo channel's marathon of Work Out, Season 2 starring some trainer to the stars named Jackie Warner. We can't say we learned anything useful from the show except that trainers like to sleep with other trainers, one trainer looks like Angelina Jolie, trainers like to push their clients hard to see results and Jackie had to go to Indianapolis to meet with some clothing execs about her new line of gymwear.
And that is where we do learn something useful. Jackie and her friend stay in a funky inn/B&B called the Yellow Rose Inn. Run by a woman named Betty Davis, the Yellow Rose Inn is a 100-year-old house in the city's historic "Old Northside" neighborhood that features just four rooms--the Wedgewood, Oakroom, Emerald and Ballrom. Each room also has access to the 1,200 sq. ft. roof deck which has views of the city and a six-person hot tub.
Guests can wander throughout the inn, essentially a late Victorian mansion, which has several antique furnishings like an old phone from the 20s, five fireplace mantels from different periods, stained and beveled glass, an early (1870's) gothic revival stairs, and gas chandeliers.
Fortunately, all this history is kept to the public areas of the house so you don't have to fall asleep on it. Although one guest did complain she though the bathroom in the Wedgewood suite was kind of old. There's only three reviews on TripAdvisor so we're not sure of how this place really stands up but the bottom line is it's still a B&B in Indianapolis. You make the call.
