Some frightening news, a hotel employee of the Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas was killed early this morning when a bomb went off in a parking structure outside the hotel.

The explosive blew up as the man who was killed attempted to remove it from the top of his car a little after 4 a.m., Cassell said. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. The explosion occurred on the second floor of a parking structure behind the Luxor. Cassell declined to describe the device, but said initial reports that it was a backpack were wrong.

Another person at the scene was able to escape but with injuries. Police are saying this is not a terrorist act but rather an intended murder of the hotel employee. For now, the hotel, which is located next to the Excalibur and the Mandalay Bay, has not been evacuated and there was little damage around the vehicle where the bomb was placed. But no doubt, it's a scary time at the Luxor right now.
