Bette Midler to Take Over for Celine Dion at Caesars Palace

We never thought the day would come when Celine Dion's contract at Caesar's Palace would finally be up. But when Celine's show ends for good on December 15, Bette Midler will step into fill her shoes.
The singer-actress agreed to a two-year contract starting February 20, 2008, performing five nights a week for 20 weeks.
"I think it'll be my usual outrageous, flamboyant, over-the-top show," she said.
"I have tremendous background singers and I always have a great band," she added. "If I get lucky, I'll have semi-nudes. I love showgirls and I love feathers and sequins, so I'm hoping there'll be plenty of that."
So, all "bettes" are off?
Also, since Midler is not doing the 160 shows a year that Celine did, Caesar's Palace is looking to add a third performer--the second being Elton John and his "Red Piano" show. We're putting our money on Cher.
Anyway, if you are a huge Bette fan and fear the tickets might sell out, they go on sale today at 3pm EST through Ticketmaster or by calling 1-877-7BETTEM. Prices ranges from $95 to $250. Yeah, for a show that hasn't even been created yet.
