Travelodge Really Wants You To Sleep Well

May 18, 2007 at 9:06 AM | 0 Comments

We've heard of hotel chains that try to help their stressed and busy guests by providing various de-stress services: massage, aromatherapy, even social evenings and relaxation seminars. But in the UK, the Travelodge chain has come up with something even we'd never thought of.

The big secret? Goldfish therapy. The background goes something like this:

Apparently Travelodge has conducted a survey revealing that 63 per cent of us are sleep-deprived, and 57 per cent believe that goldfish hold the answer to our insomnia woes.

As a result, for no extra cost you can request a "fish therapy" room, that is, a room that comes complete with a goldfish. It's recommended that you spend 15 minutes watching your golden friend swim around before you go to bed, and then you'll get a good night's sleep. Travelodge is also keen to point out that their goldfish aquariums are ten times the average size, so their goldfish are especially happy and relaxed ones, just like they hope their guests will be.
