The Ivy Hotel in San Diego Is Now Open

We've been awaiting the "adult playground" hotel in San Diego for a while now, so we got happy feet when a tipster told us that the Ivy Hotel has officially opened as of yesterday.

Just called them today....Today is opening day with the underground nightclub not open till June. Rooftop Bar, Eden is open with a Fri-Sat cover charge of $35...ouch.

Wow, that just rained on our parade. Let's hope that cover charge is for outsiders and not hotel guests. Some more bad news--it doesn't look like this hotel is offering any special opening rates. We found rooms available for tonight (but not during this weekend) for $375 a night.
