May is Secretly Child-Free Resort Month in Hawaii

[Ed. Note: Alex Salkever is the editor/founder of Hawaii travelblog Hawaiirama.]
Hawaii is the ultimate family vacation destination. Hawaii is the ultimate romance and honeymoon destination. Hawaii has no adult-only resorts. Note the incongruous nature of these three statements.
Fortunately, for love birds who pine to experience the islands sans the happy sounds of screaming babies and yammering tantrum tossers, there are two stealth options in the month of May. The Kona Village Resort, a Gilligan's Island-style property that was recently renovated, is usually known as one of the best places for families in the islands. Yet in May the KVR shuts down its much loved childcare programs and takes a break from caring for keiki. Can you take a hint, mom and dad?
True, families might still be on property but they are far less likely in the month of May.
The Hotel Hana Maui takes it a step further, making May officially an "Adults Only" month at the rustic yet posh outpost of old-style Hawaiian hotel civility on the far eastern lobe of Maui. Far, far away from the rows of condos lining the tourist traps on the South Shore.
