Yesterday, we mentioned that the Venetian Resort & Casino in Las Vegas was undergoing room renovations for all 4,000 of the hotel's suites. While some of us were skeptical about the renovations being completed by the expected yet nebulous date of Fall 2007, it turns out some of the renovated rooms are actually ready now.

We found this out thanks to our drunken haze at the casino last summer where we signed up for a Players Card and thus for every e-newsletter that the Venetian produces.

Anyhow, the hotel's new rooms sport a modern European design rather than an ornate look and a special offer of $199 has been introduced to showcase these rooms. As usual, these special offers are not that special. For one, crazy blackout dates apply meaning you can probably get this deal Sunday - Thursday, all the days you won't ever be in Las Vegas. It includes a complimentary glass of champagne when you purchase an entree at the new David Burke restaurant. It also includes $20 in promotional slot credits which will disappear faster than your solitary glass of bubbly.

In some more major Venetian news, Tao Beach opened this past Sunday. Capitalizing on the success of the Tao restaurant and nightclub, the Venetian has unveiled this pool/nightspot above Tao that serves as yet another place for private parties and events, although it is open during the daytime with a reservation. Seven cabanas will serve as mini-VIP rooms with HDTVs, Xbox players, internet access, a mini-fridge and even masseuses on staff if you like. There will also be a floating dance floor and 14 ft. high fire columns.

As the Venetian puts it, it will be "an icon of exotic exclusivity." Just remember, it ain't exclusive if Kevin Federline is allowed in there.
