NYLO Returns, Wants Local Artwork

NYLO Hotels, the urban loft hotel set to open in random cities across the U.S. has apparently broken ground on its first property in Plano, Texas.
Despite the fact that the NYLO hotel hype machine has been churning out news about its forthcoming lifestyle hotels, we actually sort of forgot about this brand. We know, we know, this is our job. But in the time that NYLO first announced their hotel sometime in 2005 to today when they put out a call for local artists to submit their work for the Plano hotel, other brands like Hyatt Place, Hyatt Andaz, aloft, Element, and Hotel Indigo have also sprung up.
And sadly for NYLO, Hyatt Andaz and Indigo Place have already implemented a focus on local artists in their hotels. But at least NYLO hotel uniforms will look cooler.
Here are the detes if you happen to be a local artist in Plano:
NYLO is seeking local artists who will enable NYLO to reflect the local art community and talent. NYLO Plano along with The Art Institute of Dallas embarked upon a search for original masterpieces to be displayed in the hotel's guest lofts, corridors and public spaces. Beginning now until July 2, 2007, NYLO Plano will be accepting art work that embodies the creativity of the local art scene.
The NYLO hotel is expected to open later this year but we won't belive it until we see it.
