The alley behind the Tides Hotel

Thanks to a diligent HotelChatter tipster, we have learned that the renovations to the Tides Hotel are NOT completed, despite a press release from the Kor Hotel Group yesterday, saying that they were, including "the magnificent lobby."

Our tipster writes in:

The restaurant and lobby is definitely NOT done. In fact, they have enacted a HUGE temporary wall in the lobby to block the construction. You can see how tiny the lobby is now from the mezzanine.

The tipster then went above and beyond the call of duty by submitting to us these construction pics for your enjoyment. Once again, this just goes to show that PR people may be able to get us to buy that Britney is in rehab for exhaustion, but when you say a hotel is complete and it is not, the hotel mavens will tell us the truth.

Public space renovations at The Tides South Beach, which include the restaurant and lobby are in progress and are nearly complete.  Kor Hotel Group is very excited about The Tides and the position it will hold as one of the preeminent hotels in South Beach, upon completion of its renovations.
