Four Hip Hotels in Bangkok

We heap a good amount of praise on the Bangkok hotel scene since it's one of the world's great values in terms of the great quality you get for your baht. Now CNN.com just ran a round-up feature done by Travel + Leisure on Bangkok's New Mini Hotels, highlighting four small boutique places that are worth a look.
The Eugenia is described as "Eastern colonial grandeur meets African game-lodge chic." Luxx is a a minimalist hipster place that must be foreign-owned: the English on their web site is perfect and they list a floor plan and area size for the rooms. The Baan Thai Wellness Retreat is 21 teak houses that create a refuge in the city.
We had to run this "killer view" shot photo from Arun Residence, however. Does it even matter what's inside that balcony? The view alone--of the Chao Phraya River and the Temple of Dawn--is worth the $80 to $140 a night.
At all four of these hotels, rates start at less than $100 a night--yet another reason why Bangkok is hotel heaven.
