The first review for Chateau La Rue came in April 25, 2007 and it's a doozy.
Well as we parked the car and getting out a woman named Patricia asked me what we were doing there. I looked baffled and asked what do you mean and she said that there was nothing here for people like me and then had the nerve to ask me if I could afford to stay in a place like that while her friends were laughing. I felt humiliated and demeaned. What did she mean people like me I honestly took that as a racial slur and asking about my social status how dare she.
Ok, that sounds like a bad 90210 episode. But later on that day, "JudyByrd" posted a 5.0 score along with this glowing review:
This has got to be the best experience of a lifetime. This is the most luxurious and wonderful places we have ever stayed at. My husband and I enjoyed the quiet of the out of the way B&B and then the Casino was closeby also. This is a gift you must give yourself. The food was fabulous and the service was by far the best I have ever encountered. This is a must do!!!!
Hmmm..."a gift you must give yourself"? Sorry we don't buy it. Especially considering the timing of that post.
Then another reviewer, "SarahAshley" from New York, gave another 5.0 score two days later and with these remarks:
Great rooms, amazing decor, wonderful quaint property....Tori and Dean succeeded in building a modernized bed and breakfast, which is what I see is the future of boutique hotels.
The future of boutique hotels is modernized bed and breakfasts run by Tori Spelling? Good lord! We hope not. We're not saying these reviews are planted items or anything but somehow they don't seem quite real. Kinda like Tori Spelling herself.
