With the third installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean triology hitting theaters Memorial Day Weekend, it makes perfect sense for Bahamas hotels to capitalize on the movie's popularity, especially since most of the scenes were shot there.
At the British Colonial Hilton Nassau, the hotel has put together a Pirates Escape package that includes:
· Welcome drink at Blackbeard's Cove Bar (children's drink available)
· Pirates theme welcome amenity
· Daily Breakfast
· Tickets to the Pirates of Nassau Interactive Museum
· One trip to Blackbeard's Cay for a snorkeling adventure
· Nightly "Pirate's Delight" assortment of petit fors.
Some fun history? The British Colonial Hilton was built on the site of what was once the infamous Blackbeard's residence, Old Fort Nassau. The package starts at $209 a night, based on availability. Book by calling the hotel directly at 242-302-9000 and ask for the Pirates Escape Package.
Over on Grand Bahama Island where the most scenes for the Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 were filmed, the Sheraton at Our Lucaya Beach and Golf Resort is offering a Pirates3 Getaway that includes:
· Accommodations, including resort fee & service charge
· Daily breakfast at Barracuda's
· "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Pirates of the Caribbean 2" DVDs
· 2 tickets to UNEXSO's Pirates Show (which only performs on Thursdays)
· Pirate-themed amenities (sword, hat and rum cake).
The package starts at $617 (based on availability) and can be booked by calling 888-627-7129 and asking for code POTC3.
