Happy Happy Joy Joy! Hyatt Place, the select service/extended stay/boutique-imitation hotel, from big parent Hyatt Hotels, has announced that their hotels will have free WiFi in both the rooms and the common areas.
Globe Street reports:
The new hotels will have "next generation" entertainment with 42-inch flat screen high-definition televisions with stereo quality sound that guests can plug their MP3players or laptops into, [senior vice president Jim Chu] says.
The hotels will also have free Wi-Fi access both in the rooms and common areas with a "Print Me" feature. With the "Print Me" feature, a guest is given a code when they want to print a document and is able to have the document print in the hotel's business center, Chu says.
We're guessing that it's going to cost you for the "Print Me" feature but the free WiFi is a huge step up from the Hyatt-wide agreement with T-Mobile which usually charges $10 a day.
Hyatt Places are expected to pop up in suburban markets and will feature 127-150 rooms with reasonable rates from $150 to $200. There's already a few Hyatt Places out there in Chicago, Altanta and Phoenix but Hyatt's got plans to open up 120 before the year's out (this is probably the suburban hotels), largely by remodeling the Amerisuites hotels, which Hyatt bought out in 2005.
