Honestly, we didn't think we could take another Tori and Dean episode after last week's one which featured a circumcision discussion. But this week, Tori and Dean held their opening gala for Chateau La Rue and who are we to miss a chance to witness some Tori Spelling drag queens.
MORE
This time the episode kicks off with Tori and Dean visiting the doctor. Tori announces with shock how much she weighs--161 pounds. Doctor says he's concerned about Tori staying in Fallbrook when she's just a month away from delivering. Some reality TV foreshadowing perhaps? Upon leaving, Tori acts surprised paparazzi is waiting outside. Whatever.
Next the couple goes into full partying planning mode with Tori determined to bring Hollywood to Temecula at any cost. Which of course doesn't make Dean happy. Again, good acting Dean since Oxygen is picking up the tab for this too.
However, what irks us is that Dean keeps talking about paying guests showing up the day after the party and that doesn't make sense to us because no one's really taking reservations at Chateau La Rue these days. We even emailed them and all they said was Tori was recuperating from Liam's birth. Whatever.
The next painful 10 minutes are spent with the couple and their friends racing to get some last-minute renovations and party planning done. Oxygen must be running out of crises for the couple to run into because what goes "wrong" here is that porta potties are in the wrong place and the giftbags sucks. Dean stresses and forces Tori's Beverly Hills friends to get to work which they do begrudgingly. But not before Tori's girlfriend Suzanne comments again on how nice and big Tori's boobs are. For the last time we hope, whatever.
Finally, things are somewhat in order and guests start to arrive. Celebs that pop in are Lisa Rinna and her hubby Harry Hamlin, Debbie Gibson, Kato Kaelin, Kelly Rutherford (who we just saw this weekend at the Century City Mall) and of course, Perez Hilton who makes his THIRD appearance on the series so far.
Also, we get to see the interiors of the guestrooms as Tori takes the party on a tour. We have to say these interiors look pretty impressive and the duo (and Oxygen) have succeeded in modernizing a B&B. Each room has bold colors, sleek furniture and interesting artwork but just the right amount, nothing too overwhelming or overpowering. Aside from handyman Dean, seeing the rooms was the one thing we actually enjoyed about this show.
The gala concludes with the entertainment which are Tori Spelling drag queens throughout the years. There's her 90210 phase, some late 1990s phase, her So NoTORIous phase and the current prego stage. Tori and Dean cap the night by announcing the Chateau La Rue name (but with no shout-out to Oxygen contest winner Sara Riggs) and ask guests to check-in soon. Then the episode ends with Tori and Dean the next day deeming the party a success but Dean having to get up and clean for the expected guests.
Up next week, about seven guests arrive to stay at the B&B, two of which are old, cranky ladies. We surmise that Oxygen paid these people to stay here or at least offered them the chance to be on TV. Naturally, it looks like Dean is doing all the work. Then Tori announces she's in labor.
Annoying Tori Moments:
Tori was surprisingly not too annoying in this episode, except her friends were. We do like how Tori can at least make fun of herself and her drag queen following. We just wish she would be more appreciative of Dean like we are.
Sad Dean Moment:
Aside from Dean doing all the work all the time, the saddest moment occurred when Tori surprised Dean with an aquarium for the B&B. Dean got all excited when they dropped in a puffer fish and he started talking to the fish saying, "It's ok buddy, it's ok" and rubbing the glass. Maybe he wishes he had someone to comfort him when he started living in Tori's fishbowl.
