The other week we wondered what sort of hotel brand would be going up at 75 Wall Street and to our surprise, it's actually going to be an Andaz hotel from Hyatt, which we mentioned but never really thought would happen.

Here's the formal press release on the property's new hotel:

350 luxury condominiums comprise the upper 24 floors while 250 hotel suites in the lower portion of the building will be managed by Hyatt Corp. under its newly launched luxury lifestyle brand, Andaz. The word Andaz means personal style. This new luxury hotel brand expresses individual style and personal independence in an environment of casual elegance. It offers local personality, innovative design and a relaxed atmosphere, plus unpretentious, responsive, personalized service.

If you didn't know, the Andaz brand from Hyatt is billed as an "unpretentious upscale alternative" that focuses on "local identity" and "casual elegance." The first Andaz is set to open in London this summer with another to open near the New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue.

While we have yet to see what Andaz interiors will be like, we have to say we're a bit disappointed. It just feels like the city just got another Hyatt, especially since the Andaz on Fifth will open before this one.
