- Yotel Gatwick
April 16, 2007 at 6:58 AM | 4 Comments

The coming-soon capsule hotel that branched out from the YO! Sushi chain, Yotel is talking about expansion before the first of its sites are even open. Proudly boasting that Yotels will open inside London's Gatwick airport in May June and Terminal 4 of Heathrow sometime this summer, the press releases are now coming thick and fast to promote other potential Yotels around the world.
And Sydney seems to top the list most often as a likely candidate to get a Yotel--but not until 2008 at the earliest. The coolest-sounding part of the Yotel pod rooms are what they call the techno wall; but there are other good features too:
Techno wall with universal port for i-pod or MP3 player, workstation, flat screen LCD TV, free internet access, double beds, luxury bedding and bathroom fittings including rain shower, automated check-in, internal window and storage.
Other potential Yotel sites are doing the rounds: nominated cities include Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bucharest, Berlin, Copenhagen, Hong Kong, Singapore, Madrid, Paris and Rome. While you might think they should get something off the ground and finally actuallyopen a Yotel first (we do), it's also nice to know that there might be one coming sooner that's not in London. Let us know when you get to try one.
