This week we will be looking at some Chicago hotels, largely because we realized that we have New York, Miami, Los Angeles and San Fran well-covered but really nothing on the Windy City. If you have a question about the city's hotel scene, send it our way and we'll investigate. Even better, if you have hotel recommendation, we wanna hear it.

Going back to the TripAdvisor rankings for Chicago hotels, we found that Kimpton's Hotel Monaco made the list at #7. Typically, this is not surprising. A lot of guest love the free WiFi and the quaint little wine-tasting hour in the lobby that Kimpton offers inside their hotels. But at this Hotel Monaco, guests really love the service and the location (near the city's best shopping) so much so that they are willing to overlook numerous problems like tiny rooms, rooms that smelled like smoke, missing lightbulbs, a defunct clothes steamer, a crappy adjacent restaurant, and windows that don't open.

It's kind of weird. Almost every review lists some sort of incident that went wrong but still loved the hotel. For example, a review titled, ""A hotel with small rooms and a very big heart."

Speaking of rooms, this hotel offers "Tall Rooms" for tall people that have 9-foot king sized beds, heightened showerheads and oversized bathrobes. Also the hotel boasts the WXRT's "Party Like A Rock Star" Suite where you can

celebrate the rock 'n' roll lifestyle in this one-of-a-kind two-room suite that draws in the fans, including such celebrity guests as James Taylor and Britney Spears. The sitting room features a regal red velvet couch, dramatic zebra-striped carpeting, a display of eight gold records by artists such as the Smashing Pumpkins and the Bare Naked Ladies, and a fully-loaded TouchTunes jukebox, the world's first digital jukebox that stores songs on a computer hard drive.

Just be sure to confirm your booking for this suite before you get there as one reviewer said the hotel doublebooked this room. Regular room rates were found for this weekend starting at $219 a night.
