Hotel Shelley Doesn't Care If You Are Robbed

While you can come across a lot of blog posts titled "Worst Hotel Ever", this week's report from blogger Weezie pretty much lives up to the title. It all happened during a stay in Miami's Hotel Shelley, a hotel famous for pushing random hook-ups and for advocating late-night room parties. For Weezie, it all starts off like this:

I got robbed! In my room! And they didn't even do anything about it!!!

We don't love overused explanation points, but maybe they're appropriate here. Bad enough, we think, to have stuff stolen from your room (Weezie and pals lost a wallet and had everything flung around the room), but the least you can expect is a little bit of sympathy and action from the hotel involved. But the reaction from Hotel Shelley staff went like this:

So we politely/frantically called the front desk to alert them to the fact that they needed to call the police. They suggested we do it ourselves because, clearly, they could not be bothered.

A bit more investigation (from the guests, not the hotel staff) uncovered another burgled room, and they also spent the rest of the evening persuading potential guests to try elsewhere.
