Cubicle Dreamin' is a feature in which we ask the hotel mavens to take some time out of their busy work day, surf the Internet, and tell us what hotel they wish they could beam themselves to right that very second--all on the slave driving companies dime, of course. Oh, like these people aren't surfing aimlessly anyway--at least now their purposeless clicking will be cobbled together into useful hotel stories--we hope. Have a destination hotel you are just dying to leave your cube for? Send the story our way.

In this episode, Hotel Maven Amanda K picks out her homeland choice. Enjoy.

Sunset camel walks on the beach, shopping in a pearl capital, and guaranteed good weather (at least out of cyclone season): these sound already like enough reasons for me to head to the Cable Beach Club Resort in Broome, on the north-west coast of Australia. On top of that, it won the award for Best Regional Accommodation in last year's Australian Hotel Association awards.

Although the core of the resort is nearly twenty years old, much of the resort has been renovated recently and you can choose from Studio Rooms, Bungalows, Villas or Suites, depending on budget, needs and how many people you're holidaying with. Personally, I'm keen on the couple's Ocean View Studio, because if you're going to stay at Cable Beach, you really should be able to see Cable Beach.

There seem to be quite a few sightseeing options around Broome (including enacting the classic Broome photograph of riding a camel along the beach at sunset) but there are also quite a few leisure options at the Resort. Since the mention mango daiquiris in the same breath as lagoon style pool, I can imagine spending the day there.

But if the need to cleanse your body is greater, you can try the "Buddha Sanctuary" where the tai chi and yoga classes are held. Just for the record, the Buddha of Buddha Sanctuary is allegedly the largest crystal Buddha statue in the world. Now you all want to go too, right?
