Coming Soon: Deep Purple Love At The Push Of A Button in Qbic Amsterdam

If you planning on Euro-tripping to Amsterdam, wait until May 14 for the opening of the Qbic Hotel WTC Amsterdam in the city's financial district. The new Qbic chain (Antwerp and Maastricht versions are due to open in September) are a kind of pod hotel that gets described as "high tech but low budget". Check-in will be self-service and breakfast comes out of a vending machine (but fresh from a local bakery) and you'll stay in a Cubi:
a cube-shaped state-of-the-art living space. Each Cubi features a practical set-up; an extra long handmade Hästens bed, Philippe Starck design bathroom elements, LCD TV, audio, safe and high-speed Internet, and an ingenious work-and-dine set. You can even change the color of your Cubi depending on your mood: Mellow Yellow, Red Romance or Deep Purple Love...
Any place that gives us Mellow Yellow lighting options is all right by us. The cheapest prices (booked in advance) will be 39 Euros (just over $50) per pod.
