What Kind of Hotel is the Best Western Hotel UniLodge?

When a hotel describes itself as a "hotel unilodge" yet refurbishes to appeal to business travelers, it all sounds like a bit of a muddled-up affair. But that's exactly what the Best Western Hotel UniLodge Sydney is trying to do: appeal to all. With traveler reviews often making mention of a connection with a university dormitory, the Best Western itself just says that the recent refurbishment should help the hotel appeal to both holidaymakers and business travelers visiting Sydney.

Phase one of the renovation has seen the replacement of bed heads, valances, linen, desks, tables and chairs; pricier items like new TV sets are due later in the year. The Best Western Hotel UniLodge's goal is to bring in the business travelers who are attracted by a relatively low price; to help that they've got internet access in all rooms, although WiFi's only active in the foyer at this stage. It's located on the edge of Sydney's CBD (a common complaint from holidaymakers who think it's too far from the main attractions) but perhaps that's what could make it a sensible location for business travelers. And as for the university students? The last thing they need is new bed heads and linen so perhaps they'll start looking elsewhere. Looks like a "wait and see" hotel - when it finally sorts out its target market, it might be easier to categorise.
