Powder Pusher and Tree Hugger: The Grand Targhee Resort

Know of a green or eco-hotel worth checking out to indulge our inner-hippie? Tip us off.
The Grand Targhee in Wyoming is small ski resort near Jackson Hole that has neither the glamour nor the glitz of other popular ski resorts but it's totally green. The whole place is using green power from the ski lifts to the bio-diesel fuel that is used in shuttle buses, groomers and snow removal equipment. All of this is part of the Sustainability Charter the resort has taken on.
You can stay in one of the three lodges that the resort has slopeside. There' s the 16-room Targhee Lodge, the 46-room Teewinot Lodge and the 32 all-suite Sioux Lodge.
Unfortunately, some recent guests weren't a big fan of the resort's energy conservation program:
When we got the rooms, we noticed that they were really, really dark. The rooms are not big, but two small bedside lamps are barely enough to read by, much less light the corners of the rooms. The bathroom lights might have been 40 watts; the two bedside lamps were 60. When we asked for higher-wattage light bulbs, the staff said there were none available, that the resort was on an energy conservation program (translation: management is cutting corners).
Other reviews on the place complain about bad staff and older decor so we would only recommend this place for skiiers who hate crowded resorts, want to give back to the environment and are not too concerned with luxury accommodations.
