The Best Hotel Balconies

Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino

We always enjoy a good room with a killer view when we check-in to a hotel but sometimes we want more. Sometimes we want to stand outside of our room on a hotel balcony and yell, "I'm not wearing any underwear!" Wait. No, that's Paris Hilton but you get what we are saying. We covet hotel rooms with spacious balconies.

Most of the time, you will have to pony up more money for a suite to get a view and the space to enjoy it. But if money were no object, here are a few places we would check out.

This list is merely a hotel balcony jumping off point (oh, terrible pun) Let us know your favorite hotel balconies here.

The best hotel balconies are here.

· Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino: The Aruba Marriott features 22 Executive King Suites and six Governor Suites, all of which feature huge wrap-around balconies at 580 sq. ft., the largest on the island, with ocean views of course. Even better, you don't have to pony up dough to get a suite for balcony space as regular guest rooms have 100 sq. ft. balconies.

· Resort at Singer Island: All rooms at this all-suite hotel feature balconies big enough for two chairs and a small table and all have views of the intracoastal waterway or the ocean. But the 2,100-sq. ft. presidential suite on the hotel's top floor has a wrap-around balcony that can easily host a small soiree.

· Canoe Bay: The Edgewood suite at this Chetek, Wisconsin getaway, is in effect its own guest house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright's protégé John Rattenbury. The suite has 2,083-sq.ft. and a 1,438-sq.ft. outdoor wraparound deck that overlooks a private nature reserve and glacially-carved lake. To put into perspective--our two bedroom apartment is 900-square-feet and overlooks an alley in Santa Monica.

· Palace of the Lost City: The 1,000+sq.ft. African Suite at this hotel has a balcony with an outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the Pilanesberg National Park. The interior is not too shabby either with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

· Bowery Hotel: Jacuzzis and outdoor showers on a terrace in Manhattan. Need we say more? Ok, we'll say a little more. These are the Bowery Suites and are on floors six, seven and fourteen. The hotel says they start at $550 a night but you will probably pay closer to $700.

Have a hotel balcony we should know about? Send us the info--square footage and price--and we'll add it to the list.
