Sheraton Helps You Start a Virtual Pillow Fight

We have a bit of a thing about websites with games, and have been known to get addicted to them ... and so we were pretty excited to hear that the Sheraton Hotel chain had started up a pillow fighting game on their site.

Head to the Sheraton Play website and as well as being able make room reservations or join their frequent guest program, you can choose between taking part in a pillow fight or a splash fight. If you start pillow fighting, you can use your mouse to move your pillow around while other users, somewhere in the world, do the same. After 15 seconds of flying feathers, a box comes down saying "Pillow Fight Time Out" and you then have the option to resume the pillow fight.

It sounds a bit cooler than it is, because there's no score or winner, just a lot of pillows and feathers; the swimming pool splash fight is much the same, with the only interesting addition that it shows you how many other people are involved in the fight.

The philosophy behind the website is that research suggested Sheraton guests are social beings who like to interact with people when traveling, so this website is getting them interacting ahead of time. Nice try, but we're not hooked. Give us a rating on our pillow fighting skill and we might be back.
