Hotel Blog Watch: The Renaissance Hollywood's Blog

The other day we noticed that the Renaissance Hollywood has a hotel blog written by the hotel's managers so of course, in keeping up with our Hotel Blog Watch, we had to check it out.

The first post written (by someone with the same name as us!) didn't get us too excited. It was about a family event to check out--the movie Enchanted playing at the nearby El Capitan theater. However, we were surprised to see that there were no mention of a hotel package connected with the movie so we kinda respect that.

There were several other blog posts just about what was going on in the neighborhood and in the hotel (including an 8-minute dating event!). The blog even wrote an endearing post about a sick little girl from Kansas whose family needed a place to stay while in Los Angeles while she received some heavy surgery and ended up at the Renaissance.

We expected this blog to be full cheese, as is most everything else in Hollywood, but we were quite impressed. It struck the right balance of hotel promotions and packages, area attractions and events (although it was heavy on neighboring Hollywood and Highlands center) and insidery-type posts from the staff. Plus, the site had some "real" photos and not just photos taken from an old Renaissance brochure.

Even the blog posts on the Marriott charity work wasn't too holier-than-thou. And all of it was way more interesting than Bill Marriott's blog.
