Hotel Blog Watch: LGH Hotels Blog Is Written in Frenglish

Where: Paris, France

The LGH group of hotels in Paris, which so far includes the Le Quartier Bastille, the Le Quartier Republique and the Le General Hotel, is all excited about the fact that it has started its own blog, by the name of lgh hotels - paris vibrant.

Paris might be a vibrant city, but you couldn't exactly accuse the LGH blog of being vibrant. It's not bad, but it just doesn't really catch our attention. It's half written in French and half in English, which in itself is not a bad thing, but the entries aren't translated into both languages, just posted in one or the other, so we get a feeling we're missing out on something. Perhaps it's really time for us to look at that high school French more closely.

Most of the blog posts focus on things to do around Paris, especially timely things like taking the kids on a free wooden carousel ride at Christmas, or information on exhibitions that are happening right now. But the content doesn't quite live up to the "cool and vibrant" material they promise, especially when they start advertising Disney on Ice shows. Definitely not what we plan to go to Paris for, and hardly "vibrant".
