Just because Oktoberfest has come and gone for this year doesn't mean we can't dream of traveling to a land where the tap flows freely...and directly from our hotel. Belgium's Hotel Carolus is located inside the 15th century brewery Het Anker in the charming town of Mechelen, about halfway between Brussels and Antwerp. Sure, the 22 rooms look pretty spartan, but who cares about high thread count sheets when you've got a Belgian bock to keep you warm?

At Het Anker, you'll enjoy a bevy of brews including "Cuvee van de Keizer," an ale brewed only once a year in honor of Emperor Charles V; Ambrio, a heavy, spiced amber; and Blusser, a local lager. The on-site brasserie serves up classic dishes paired with the homemade hops.
For the skeptics, we have two words: Beer chocolates. What's that, you ask? Praline chocolate ganache made with a hint of Carolus Classic amber brew. The fifth-generation family-owned and operated brewery complex includes a hotel, pub, restaurant, and museum tour. Guests get access to all of this plus parking and pet friendly accommodations starting at $105 for a single.
We're already dreaming about waking up to Belgian waffles and spending the day soaking up Flemish culture, only to return to the hotel patio for an evening pint.
