Brooklyn: The Next Hotel Hotspot?

November 5, 2007 at 4:45 PM | by juliana | 1 Comment

Now that Hotel Le Bleu has finally opened in Brooklyn, we'd like to direct our attention to some other hotels in the area. Recently, the NY Daily News reported that (like the rest of the NYC metro area) Brooklyn will soon be getting an influx of hotels, bumping the number from 1,200 hotels to 3,000 in just a few short years.

Some of the hotels in Brooklyn to check out?

· New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge: This hotel has 660 hotel rooms and a 12,000-sq ft fitness center with a lap pool.

· Sheraton Brooklyn: On Duffield St., this hotel will have 325 rooms.

· Aloft Brooklyn: Will open across from the above mentioned Sheraton with 176 rooms plus a car wash!

· Holiday Inn Downtown Brooklyn: Will have 250 rooms and located on 300 Schermerhorn St.

· Cambria Suites: Also 300 rooms and located near Brooklyn Bridge. Will have a pool.

· Smith Hotel: A boutique hotel with 93-rooms and 50 luxury condos.

Ah Brooklyn... Such an interesting (and sentimental) subject! When I left her 8 years ago, the Marriott had just open (or was just going to).

No doubt, this is not going to remain a niche market for too long.

I just read this: "The dynamic transformation of Brooklyn has been remarkable" said Dan Hagan of PLC Partners (see Cambria article above... Sorry tried to insert a tag, but my html 101 isn't sufficient!).

You are soooo right Dan: now is the perfect time to make plenty of $$$$ out of businesses in a borough that few people would have bet on 20 years ago...

But that of course does not apply only to dear old B'klyn!
