Holiday Inn Wants to Stop Sucking

Looks like just revamping the signage won't be enough for Holiday Inns worldwide. The InterContinental Hotels brand is cutting ties with underperforming hotels, hoping to refresh its image as a nice--rather than just handy--place to stay.
Hundreds of independently-owned hotels have already lost their Holiday Inn affiliation, and those who want to stay on the team will have to invest in renovations and staff training. Those investments, says InterContinental suit Stevan Porter will be repaid:
Clearly, with the fresher new image we will certainly expect the guest to see the value, so I anticipate there will be rate increases.
Luckily the chain won't have to update its already great WiFi.
