We spent the weekend in Vegas on a very tough assignment---attending the grand opening celebration of the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Since we live in a celeb-obsessed world where everyone seems to know the name of Britney's anti-depression "medication", we are giving you our celeb scoop first. Then the bit about the rooms and the casino will come later.

Besides isn't everyone curious to find out how Sylvester Stallone looks in person?

Find out after the jump.

We will give Planet Hollywood credit for bringing the Hollywood part of their name to Las Vegas this weekend. There were celebs literally crawling all over the place. Most were old, some were new and a few brought us to say "huh?"

On Friday night, the hotel laid out a red carpet for celebs attending the Jon Stewart show. So on our way over there we lingered by the ropes and watched the celebs walk down. We saw Charlie Sheen and his fiancee, Joey Fatone from NSync, the other weird one from NSync, Luke Perry and Maggie Grace. Apparently, there were more celebs walking down the ropes (Patrick Swayze included) but we were hungry.

So we headed over to Koi for dinner. Now, the servers at the paparazzi hangout Koi in Los Angeles treat anyone who is not a celebrity as if they just got outta jail on a technicality in a murder case. But the servers at Koi were gracious and helpful and quick with your requests. This is even while Pam Anderson and her husband Rick Solomon are dining there with David Spade.

Also spotted former NFL player Warren Moon downing sake shots and then skipping out on the bill. We heard his tablemates go, "We're short on the bill. Why does this always happen? Ah...Warren." But the biggest "sigh"-ting at Koi for us was when Milo Ventimiglia from "Heroes" took a seat two tables away from us. In the middle of ordering our food, we actually started saying "Ohmygod, ohmygod, ohmygod." He is perfect.

After the Jon Stewart show (which we did not see), we hit up a huge ballroom on the mezzanine level for the after-party. Here we were "treated" to a show by Bruce Willis and his band. Um...they were pretty....um...let's just say it felt like karaoke night.

He was later joined by Edgar Winter, Big Bad Daddy Voodoo and randomly, Joey Fatone. We spied leathery Gene Simmons in the crowd as was Robin Leach. But all in all it was a pretty quiet "after-party."

Then the night capped off with DMC from Run-DMC doing a set. He is awesome and we were sad that most of the crowd had left by the time he got on. Still, this meant we had little competition to give him a hug after his performance.

The next day we got up and ate brunch at Planet Dailies with Sugar Ray Leonard sitting at the table next to us and Luke Perry at another table next to us.

We hit up the spa for a massage and saw Holly Robinson Peete, Rhea Pearlman,Monique Coleman from "High School Musical" and David Hasselhoff who was lingering about the reception area. That man looks good even though he's old. We probably can't say the same about his liver.

After the spa, we stopped by the Extra! Lounge, named after that news magazine show. BET was actually hosting a poker tournament and Nelly was there. He's got bad teeth tho, probably from wearing too many grillz.

Also spotted in the lounge Anthony Anderson, Eva Pigford (we think), Eddie Griffiths, and Mekhi Pfeiffer.

For dinner that night, we went to the Strip House for steak. Here we saw Anthony Michael Hall (he looks weathered to say the least) and were told that PH owner Robert Earl was eating dinner in a private room with several investors.

After dinner, we headed over to the theater for the big show of the weekend--Barbra Streisand! First we had to endure some comedy from Kevin Pollack which was ok. Then Robert Earl stood up to introduce Babs and we learned that it was Danny DeVito's birthday as well as his father's, Robert Earl, Sr., 81st birthday. And the present the son gave to his father was Babs.

She looked like typical Babs in a flowy, black, dress with cleavage and dripping in diamonds. Her voice was a little hoarse at times and she blamed that on catching her husband's cold. It happens to everyone! We also sat just right of her "teleprompter" and we could see all of the lyrics and the talking bit she does in between songs.

In the audience we spied, Slyvester Stallone and Kevin Spacey. There were probably more but it was dark and we were on our fifth glass of wine.

Again, we hit up the after-party in the ballroom which was thankfully, much livelier and much more crowded, than it was the night before. Sugar Ray featuring Mark McGrath, came out on stage first.

They performed a pretty long set with mostly cover songs. His co-star Tanika Ray was taking pictures of him from on her Blackberry. She joked about how she had shots "up his nose." But we kinda thought Mark was cute. Musta been all that wine.

Once they finished there was a bit of a wait before Sylvester Stallone came out and introduced Earth, Wind and Fire. Everyone went nuts for Sly but we were a little scared. You can see why.

Earth, Wind and Fire kicked ass but we were tired and had to go to bed. On our way out, we saw Tom Arnold and we yelled out his name. (By this time we had switched to vodka tonics.) He was friendly, if not a little scared. So when Tom Arnold is scared of you, that's when you call it a night. And we did.

Making our way back to the room we saw that weird dude from Nsync (Chris Kirkpatrick) and Criss Angel. We also got admonished by a security guard for walking around in our stockinged-feet. Apparently, ladies no matter how much your feet hurt, you can't walk around without your shoes on.

Thanks to Kathleen Flaherty for making this happen for us.
