Philly Wants To Celebrate The Holidays With You

November 16, 2007 at 3:20 PM | by | Comments (3)

It is no secret that Philly and HotelChatter editors have had words in the past, but that only makes us love the city more. Furthermore, every hotel and tourism board is pulling out the stops to get you out of your lived-in recliner and into one of those stiff, overstuffed hotel room chairs this holiday season and that includes the phine pholks in Philly.

Starting on November 21, Philadelphia and the Countryside, the official visitor site for Greater Philadelphia, will participate in the push for patrons by launching a website where visitors can download $50 vouchers for any participating $150-per-night stay or higher. Until then, the website is just a link-less page.

Hotels participating in the initiative include the nearly 40 establishments listed on the tourism board site, such as the historic Chestnut Hill Hotel (pictured) on Germantown Avenue in downtown Philly. The deal lasts until January 9. Remember the code word, "holidays." You'll need it to secure the discount, and to remember to eat enough free continental breakfast to make up for all the home cooking you're missing out on.

Re: Philly Wants To Celebrate The Holidays With Yo

Chestnut Hill Hotel isn't in "downtown Philadelphia" (or Center City as we Philadelphians call it). The hotel is in downtown Chestnut Hill, which is no doubt a charming place to stay, but not particularly close to the main shopping/dining/Liberty Bell part of the city.

It's probably better to stay in Chestnut Hill then right? Center City can be well too city-ish.

Caroline in Philly here with a quick clarification:

Philadelphia's $50 gift promotion is extended to more than 95% of our hotel partners. However, there are a couple hotels that aren't part of the promotion... and coincidentally, Chestnut Hill Hotel is not part of the $50 gift promotion! Still, it's absolutely worth staying there.

There are 40 Philadelphia area hotels that are taking part in the promotion, and the link to book is live for sure at www.gophila.com/holidays.

Thanks very much! Hope this helps.
