The Dylan's Hotel Website Offers Different 'Moods' and Other Silly Website Tricks

November 14, 2007 at 5:05 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

In checking out the shopping package from the Dylan Hotel in Dublin yesterday we noticed that the website offered a choice of "moods", essentially colors to pick from for the website background.

While it's a nice gesture, it's a little silly, no? Will you really be spending that much time on their website that you would rather prefer the purple background over the olive green? We would rather they kill the silly music first before they offer us a choice of template colors.

And speaking of websites is HotelChatter's dedicated commenter, HotelMgr, who gave us his choices for silly Parisian hotel websites.

MORE

From HotelMgr: For the Hotel Website tag, I would like to submit two very creative sites:

· Le General Hotel: http://www.legeneralhotel.com/
I particularly liked the piece of music called 'Plaisir de France - Americain' (luckily you can turn it off or switch to another song!). I don't know what's with the duck either (each and every time you click a menu item, you get that silly duck shadow...)

· Murano Resort: http://www.muranoresort.com/murano_gb.html
Really 'oh so chic and oh so trendy' web site. Cool lounge music in the rooms, but horrible in the bar. Very hip description too on their booking engine:

Enter into the wonders of Paris' first urban resort! On the Edge of the Marais, new international port of call, this unique space of wellbeing provide a subtle mix of luxury and relaxation, mixed with classic and modernism.

· Terminus Vaugirard: Now I know it is NOT nice to submit this last one because they are definitely not competing in the same line, but my all-time favorite is: http://www.terminus-vaugirard.com/.

Especially this page (which sadly does not work in English... guess they got too many complaints about the picture of the lady in the bathroom which is hardly appropriate.)

The so called Internet Point is also worth a visit. All the best from Paris! Thanks HotelMgr for the website tips!
