Alila Ubud, Bali Hotels

Hotel infinity pools are our newest water lust. These swimming pools produce a visual effect of water extending to the horizon, vanishing, or extending to infinity and beyond.

These style pools are often very expensive and can cost over $100,000 to install.

These pools are mainly for adults, and are not particularly "child friendly". Cannonballs and vanishing edges are not particularly compatible. In any event, we to satiate our water crush we put together our quick bullet list of our favorite infinity pools.

The best hotel infinity pools are here.

· Piscina Grande: Mexico's largest infinity pool lives here.

· Surf Watchers: Set at sea level, the pool at Princeville Resort looks out directly into the middle section of one of the best surfing waves in the world, the righthand freight train that slams though Hanalei Bay on big swells.

· Beach Gawking: Infinity at Hotel Victor means watching Ocean Drive and Miami Beach bods while you soak.

· Infinity Invention: While we have no proof that Bali hotels invented the vanishing pool, Alila Ubud is certainly one of the most tranquil infinity settings on earth.

· Eye Tricks: Hotel Villa Mahal in Turkey possesses a pool that will play Chris Angel type tricks with your mind.

Feel free to add your endless water choices here.

Awesome pools. I've never seen one in person, I would imagine that water is able to pour over the side when someone gets in, which get collected out of view over the side and pumped back in.

Looks to be far better used for aesthetics than for real use.

An infinity pool (also named negative edge or vanishing edge pool) is a swimming pool which produces a visual effect of water extending to the horizon, vanishing, or extending to "infinity". These style pools are often very expensive and can cost up to as much as USD $80,000.Note that the term "infinity pool" is also used to describe a lap pool that has an automated current so a person can exercise by swimming a single infinitely-long lap against the current. This allows exercise pools to be built in small spaces yet still be useful to athletes.

My favorite infinity pools are at Jade Mountain Resort, St. Lucia
