Before we hit up the GenArt party the other week at the W Westwood Hotel in Los Angeles, we got a tour of room 1416--a newly renovated two-bedroom MegaSuite.

Thom Filica from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy has done all the rooms in the hotel in a beach glamour theme, getting rid of the boring beige and neutral colors and adding personality to the hotel suites. The design was also meant to be particular for Los Angeles so hence the beach theme. Word is that all of the older W Hotels will get a similar specific-to-the-location renovation such as the W San Francisco getting a Far East type of look.

Here's our quick video tour which was cut short by a full memory stick. But never fear, we have a ton of photos after the jump.

The furniture is very functional in these new rooms. For instance, if you get sick of the printed pattern above, you can flip the pillows and cushions over for a solid or more "nighttime" look.

In the office which is just off the master bedroom you have a desk (with drawers) and a giant cork board. Perfect for the screen writer who is in town pitching a project. Or for playing Pin the Tail on the Donkey.

The office area also has another pull-out couch with reversible pillows.

Here is the second, smaller bedroom which we didn't capture on the video.

All the walls are decked with some kind of art.

There's no shortage of TVs here.

This is a giant stereo from Bang & Olufsen. We would have no idea how to work this so call the front desk for instructions.

Re: Sweet Suite: The W Westwood's Renovated MegaSu

I stayed in the SAME hotel suite at this hotel.... this was BY FAR, the best hotel suite i have ever stayed in.  I think this suite has 4 plasmas!  And the thing is, this isn't even a Wow Suite or Extreme Wow Suite!  this hotel is by far, the best W for suites!  The middle rooms are suites so even the thrifty budget people can live in luxury here!
