With Six Columbus opening last Monday we totally forgot about the Royalton Hotel which reopened the same day after a few months of major renovations. Luckily, Amy over at NewYorkology was on the scene.

In this case it's the Royalton, which re-opened as scheduled on October 1 after renovations, according to the call NewYorkology just made to the hotel's front desk.

Also open, its Bar Forty Four. (Drinks only, save for breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.)

Closed since June, the hotel website says the new Royalton has been "invigorated with handcrafted African touches, graphic fabrics, original murals and the warm glow of a cast-bronze fireplace."

A while back we got a sneak peek at some of the renovated rooms (done by Charlotte Macaux). But we also learned that some rooms in the hotel will be sporting these ultra-cool baths. These "five-foot Roman soaking tubs" are only available in a limited number of rooms so you may want to request one when you book.
