The advertising behind Lilianfels sums it all up quite well: "Where Blue Mountains wilderness meets true luxury". That is definitely the big selling point behind Lilianfels and it's not too surprising that it picked up this award, when they have a luxury hotel in such a beautiful setting and so close to the city.
You just need to start with the basic features of all rooms and suites to get a positive impression of Lilianfels: windows open to the mountain air, European feather down duvets, turn down service and satellite TV. There are just 85 rooms (including deluxe rooms and four suites), so the place is definitely small enough to feel cosy.
You can eat at the on-site Darley's Restaurant which has just renewed their menu for spring, and there are often special events involving the restaurant and local wineries. And finally, there are also a range of spa packages available, especially for couples' weekends at Lilianfels, including massages, facials and body-wraps. It's a very worthy out-of-the-city break from Sydney that you can easily combine with some Blue Mountains sightseeing or walking.
