The Palms in Las Vegas Now Hiring for Its Newest Addition, The Palms Place

A dedicated HotelChatter reader sent along a tip that there were a ton of jobs open at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. He writes:

Did something evil happen there? Other than the usual Las Vegas evil, I mean. A walkout or mass firing? Hotel manager, assistant hotel manager, spa director, spa manager, assistant spa manager, bar manager, rooms director... even the lead massage therapist and lead esthetician, both supervisory jobs, shouldn't be available at the same time. Something's going on out there and I'm curious. Have you heard anything?

Normally, we would say it's something evil that's going on over there. Except we found out that the hotel is opening The Palms Place Hotel and Spa in March 2008.

The "decidedly upscale" sister property to the Palms and Fantasy Towers, Palm Place will feature 49 stories of studio suites, one and two bedroom suites and penthouses with glass pools. There will also be a two-story spa retreat featuring all the usual accoutrements from a world-class spa including an off-shoot of the Sunset Tan outpost as well as the only Hammam in Vegas. Palms Place will also be connected to the main Palms Casino Resort by the SkyTube, an elevated enclosed moving walkway. Finally, someone gets a people-mover so that guests can move through all the different towers of these ever-expanding Vegas casinos. (Palazzo, we hope you have one too.)

Some good news: We were able to look at room rates on the reservations page for March 2 and 3 and studio suites were going for $259 a night. Not bad. Now, we hope they don't invite both Tommy Lee and Kid Rock to the opening party.

Oh, and if you're interested in working at the Palms Place, they are holding a job fair November 14th from 9am to 7pm in the Palms Ballroom.
