The lobby.

We toured a few rooms, and the video above is of room 308. There are four types of guest room, though in terms of size they're all about the same. All have fairly large bathrooms, separated from the room by an opaque glass divider. And with only a few rooms per floor, noise shouldn't be too much of an issue. (One gripe: The rooms were a bit dark, though we visited after the sun went down.)

What really caught our eye were the multimedia guest rooms, reminiscent of the Tribeca Grand's iStudio. Mac Minis or PCs are wired into the flat screen TV and link up with in-room WiFi. A wireless keyboard/trackball combo lets you drive from anywhere in the room.

The rooftop space is sort of in limbo right now. It has an amazing view uptown, and it made us really sad that the weather in NYC is about to turn ugly. That said, it's basically just a deck for hotel guests, as there's no bar or restaurant up there. Still, it would be a great place to rent out for a party--just BYO heaters.

The lobby doesn't have too much happening, but the continuous parade of characters outside on Houston Street is fun for people watching. The furniture is temporary, but we're not sure why. It looks pretty good to us.
