Hotel Blog Watch: Sofitel LA Wants To Hear Your 'Toughts'
Although the name is SoBlog, this hardly resembles a traditional blog. For starters, there's no actual blog posts. Just a lot of "positive" comments, no doubt dropped in by the sales/marketing/pr team. What's also confusing is that the blog is divided into five sections--one for each aspect of the hotel. So there's an overall hotel section, one for Simon LA (the restaurant), another for Stone Rose, another for LeSpa and a final section for SoFit, the fitness center.
But the most glaring mistake is printed on each of the pages and throughout the blog. Where they ask readers to submit their own comments it says, "Any Toughts?". Now we thought this was some sort of inside Sofitel joke and it might be but we have no idea what it is.
Another problem is with the lone spa review. The commenter, "Micahela Overt" starts off saying that she loves the spa's foot soak and ambiance but when she goes to say that the spa as a whole feels out of sync with the rest of the hotel, her comments are cut off. So it looks like this:

Oops. Now, we're realizing this site might be in Beta phase and we understand they are working the kinks out. Still, there is a link to the Soblog on the hotel's main page. Anyways, we just hope Sofitel starts adding actual posts to each of the blog sections instead of having it be a place where people just drop off comments. And they should spell-check it too.
